On Your Mark, Get Set, Go!

Tuesday night was Braden's first Pinewood Derby. He turned 8 just in time to join the Wolf Pack to join in on the fun! Braden, Rob and Cole worked together to cut it out, sand it, paint it and put it together. They had a great time working together. Braden's car took fourth place! He might have done better, but he raced it backwards once and that didn't go well! He was all smiles all night long. It was fantastic!
Tomorrow will be Braden's first sleepover in honor of his birthday and then it is on to Cassidy's 10th birthday next weekend. What was I thinking when I had 3 kids with birthdays so close together?

Braden's Baptism

Braden has turned 8 and was baptized on his birthday! He was sick for several days before, so we weren't sure that it was going to take place on his birthday, but the antibiotics kicked in and he was ready to go at 4am! He had to wait all day long for the big event. We let him open a few presents to keep him busy and happy. He played Lego's and his new DS game and laid low so he wouldn't be tired. I took him to kunch and spent the day withhim. Grandma and grandpa joined us. Grandma was a planned speaker, but grandpa stepped in with a few minutes notice when Braden's primary teacher had to take his wife to the hospital. Thanks mom and dad! The evening was great and Braden is so happy!

Cassidy's Mission Report

Cassidy finished her California Mission report and model last week. It was fun, but we are all glad to have that pressure off of us! Cassidy chose the Santa Inez Mission. We made the model out of cardboard and masking tape! Cassidy spackled it and then finished it off with some trees and a fountain she made out of clay. She got interviewed by the local paper and had her picture taken. We are hoping to see her in the paper tomorrow! Good job, Cassidy!

Happy Birthday, Sweet Abby!

She did it! Abigayle turned 4 without my permission! Three is my favorite age, but they just don't stay three forever! We celebrated her day with a friend and family at Chuck E. Cheese. She helped me make and decorate cupcakes and her princess cake. We ate cardboard tasting pizza, played games and opened presents! What more could a 4 year old ask for? Abby has been such a sweet, fun part of our family. My reaction wasn't quite what you would expect when I found out she was joining our family. Rob had just been laid off from his job and they had closed the company indefinitely--no insurance, no paycheck. I cried for days and didn't tell him for weeks! I am so happy that she is here. I can't imagine my life without my little shadow. She is so much fun to be around and we are crazy about her! Abigayle loves to dance and sing. She is always looking for someone to help her with a puzzle, play a game with her or play Princess Polly Pockets. We love you, Abby! Happy Birthday sweet girl!
